Service and Support Frequently Asked Questions
Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions of our service and support staff. Please read through this list before contacting technical support - for most people a solution can be found here.
1. Q: My new upgrade will not Boot, Post, Power On.
A: Check the Power Supply; make sure the voltage selector is set on 110 volts. (If the system was run at 220 no damage was done, the system was underpowered.)

2. Q: My new upgrade still will not Boot, Post, Power On.
A: Check to make sure the motherboard is properly supported by the metal or plastic standoffs, not screwed directly to the case’s back plate. Check that no standoffs are under the motherboard where a screw hole does not line up.

3. Q: How many sticks of 400mhz DDR can I use with my new KT400 chipset motherboard?
A: Most manufactures recommend only running one stick of 400mgz DDR.

4. Q: Can I use my old video card with my new Pentium 4 motherboard?
  A: Pentium 4 motherboards require a 1.5 volt 4X AGP video card.

5. Q: My CD Burner will not copy direct disk to disk.
A: The CD Rom drive needs to be as fast as or faster than the Burner. The CD Rom drive should be slave on the primary IDE and the Burner should be master on the secondary IDE.

6. Q: My Intel / Ambient modem locks up wile connecting to AOL?
A: Upgrade the modem drivers. www.intel.com/design/modems/support/drivers.htm

7. Q: Where do my speakers plug in?
A: If you have on-board sound the speakers plug into to top green jack; If you have a sound blaster live or audigy plug the speakers into the 2nd jack from the left.

8. Q: How do I know how to set the bios?
A: In most cases the motherboard manufacturer knows best, they include an option for loading best performance defaults, the only other things to change would be the boot sequence and the CPU front side bus.

9. Q: How do I boot to my cdrom?
A: In the bios there are boot options (normally under advanced cmos settings) set first boot device to floppy, second to cdrom, third to IDE-0.

10. Q: My AMD CPU is not displaying or running at the correct speed.
A: Most motherboards default at 100 MHz FSB for duron or older athlon CPU’s. If running an Athlon XP CPU you will need to change the FSB to 133 MHz - this is done in the bios or by jumpers on the motherboard.
